New York Jets backup quarterback Tim Tebow isn't giving up on his designs to be a starting quarterback in the NFL, even with Gang Green.

"I'm working on a lot of things and feeling like I'm getting better," Tebow told Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News on Thursday. "Looking forward to one day being able to show some of those things ... You never know for me. My role, it could expand."

Tebow has received more fanfare, positive and negative, than any "personal punt protector" in NFL history. Some in the media have called for Tebow to replace Jets starter Mark Sanchez, but he says the team traded for him to make Sanchez a better player.

New York Jets CB Antonio Cromartie calls comments by Reggie Bush 'unprofessional' - NFL News | FOX Sports on MSN

New York Jets CB Antonio Cromartie calls comments by Reggie Bush 'unprofessional' - NFL News | FOX Sports on MSN: "  FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) Next up in a week filled with trash talk: Antonio Cromartie.

The New York Jets cornerback says Friday that comments by the Miami Dolphins' Reggie Bush about it being karma that Darrelle Revis is out for the season were ''unprofessional'' and don't show ''any kind of sportsmanship at all.''

Cromartie nearly let out an obscenity when he was first asked about Bush's comments before catching himself and adding: ''I'm not going to say what I really want to say about Reggie Bush.''

It started in Week 3 before the teams' first meeting when coach Rex Ryan said the Jets needed to put ''hot sauce'' on Bush, who hurt his knee in the game. Bush took offense to the comments, but Ryan said he simply meant paying a lot of attention to the star running back. ---"

Darrelle Revis injury: Jets place star CB on IR, activate Antonio Allen

By Greg Pitsch on Oct 12, 6:55p
According to a posted tweet from ESPN's Adam Schefter, the New York Jets now have their star cornerback, Darrelle Revis placed on the injured reserve with a torn left ACL And newly needing an extra body to fill depth chart, the Jets have signed strong safety Antonio Allen from the practice squad.

Darrelle Revis injury: Jets CB scheduled for Oct. 18 surgery

The New York Jets cornerback, Darrelle Revis, will have to undergo surgery to have a fresh torn ACL repaired on Thursday, Oct. 18, according to a close source J. McManus. After they place him on the IR, The Jets do create an extra roster spot opening.

New York had intended to put Revis on the IR earlier to place him on IR, on the off-chance that Revis could return during the playoffs (or the Super Bowl). But now the defensive back's season is officially over. The injury occurred during a Week 3 victory over the Miami Dolphins. The next day, it was announced that Revis would likely miss the remainder of the season.

Jets' Revis cleared, says 'I'm playing' at Miami

By DENNIS WASZAK Jr. (AP Sports Writer) | The Associated Press

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) -- Darrelle Revis is back in action for the New York Jets.

The All-Pro cornerback was cleared Thursday for contact in practice for the first time since suffering a concussion in the team's season opener. And, as far as Revis is concerned, there's no doubt whether he'll be on the field against the Dolphins in Miami.

''I'm playing,'' Revis said after practice. ''The doctors cleared me, so I'll be playing Sunday.''

He has no more restrictions, and just to show how ready he is, Revis jokingly added: ''I can bang my head on a wall if I want to.''

Coach Rex Ryan was also optimistic about Revis' chances of playing Sunday, but said before practice that he'll lean on the team's doctors before saying the cornerback will definitely be on the field in Miami.

''If it's not the final hurdle, I don't want to be saying something that isn't true,'' Ryan said. ''Hopefully he'll play, but I guess we'll see.''

Revis practiced fully Thursday after passing all required tests. He needed to be cleared by the team physician and an independent neurologist to participate in contact drills. Revis was injured Sept. 9 against Buffalo when he was accidentally kicked in the head by teammate Bart Scott while attempting a tackle.

The cornerback said he didn't need to be re-evaluated after practice anymore since he was cleared medically, so barring a setback, Revis will be back in the Jets' secondary on Sunday.

''I think you feel good when you have the best player on the field,'' Ryan said. ''That can't hurt you. ... There's only one Darrelle Revis. I know I feel great about it. It's hard not to smile if he's out there. You feel great as a playcaller.''
